An open apology to the country of Serbia

So it’s come to my attention that a tweet of mine from two days ago (really, Twitter follower who shall remain nameless, two DAYS ago?!?) may have been a little offensive:

Has it come to this, when I can’t even drop a quality “Die Hard” reference at the expense of a Central European country? In that case, let me offer up the following evidence:

krasic-godunov

You can’t tell me that Serbian midfielder Milos Krasic doesn’t look a whole hell of a lot like the late Alexander Godunov. I just wish Serbia’s goalie looked like Alan Rickman, then I’d REALLY be onto something.

Here’s Godunov before “Die Hard,” appearing in the worst movie trailer ever to come out of Hollywood:

You know you’re in store for a crapfest when the voiceover guy in the trailer drops a nugget like, “It’s the comedy that throws everything at you…including the kitchen sink!” But I digress. Serbia, I am deeply sorry for implying that your soccer team looks like a bunch of guys who would take over a building and hold everyone hostage.
